Hope for the Future 2

By Julia Armory

Locked up, locked away and also locked in
We need rubber gloves just to put out the bin
Dreadful pandemic is driving us mad
Not talking to people is making us sad
Everyone worried they can’t go outside
Without special rules always being applied
Wearing a mask is easy for me
No makeup required I feel quite carefree
Silence is not good you cannot deny
But listening to media should get us by
Though fed up with hearing about virus news
Comedy programmes will help conquer blues
The world is in trouble when it will end
When will it get better – we can’t comprehend
Get over this winter and wait for the spring
When we know that the vaccine and sunshine will bring
Hope for the future and when all said and done
Vast improvements will happen in 2021
